For everyone that has ever worn our badge with honor and pride, with our love and appreciation, this is for you. This is for us. This is our celebration of Soundering Together for 50 years!

Big occasions call for big choreos, and celebrating the 50th anniversary of our club, a milestone few other clubs in MLS or North American history can claim, is a huge occasion. For this display we wanted to honor the roots of our club, some of the players that have made it special, and our region.

Duwamish Sown: From the viewpoint where the Duwamish River enters the Puget Sound, our stadium stands tall as part of our city’s skyline. Since time immemorial the river has provided for the original, Indigenous peoples of the sound. It became the lifeline to the modern industrial roots of the port and this vital waterway continues to provide for our city as we grow and innovate into the future. This is Seattle, where our club is rooted and has grown up.

Seattle’s Own: 18 of the greatest players in Sounders history celebrating with the supporters. This is Seattle’s team. These are our players. The foundation upon which our club is built and ambassadors of the club ever since. The names and jerseys from throughout the history of the club commemorate our growth and the connection to our history, from 1974 to 2024, as the stars of today and yesteryear stand together in celebration. 

Sounders FC: We’ve been the Sounders since 1974. Leagues come and go, we have seen them all in that time. When entering MLS, this is the name the city, fans, and supporters rallied around and fought to move forward with. We are Sounders.

Cascades to Sea: This is our region, our home. From the shores of the iconic Puget Sound to the snow capped peaks of the mighty Cascades. Our support stretches far beyond these mountains and waters, but we always return home.

The cards on the East and West sidelines commemorate the occasion, “50 YEARS 1974-2024”, and provide inspiration for continued excellence.

With a total painted area of 30,000 sq ft (more than 2/3 of an acre!), requiring 6225 feet of seams and about 100 gallons of paint, this is the largest painted display ECS has ever done. Volunteers spent over 1000 hours sewing, drawing, painting, cutting, and setting up the display. The endless days and nights poured into this display and every display we do is out of passion and love for our team today, for our club, and for our city.
