Somos Sounders Tifo Display

¡Todos Somos Sounders!

The Emerald City Supporters and La Barra Fuerza Verde stand united with our Latino/Latine/Hispanic communities and are coming together in the Brougham End once more to celebrate the rich heritage that is and always has been a part of the American story.

Our display today is to recognize that our Latino/Latine/Hispanic communities are diverse and beautiful including US born, indigenous, and migrant people. But ALWAYS a part of our Sounders familia. The monarch butterfly is a symbol of migrant justice and is considered sacred to indigenous groups on both sides of the border.

The current attacks and political violence carried out by the administration under the guise of “legal status”, is abhorrent. Ripping families apart, kidnapping undocumented and legal citizens is unacceptable. Because nobody is “illegal” on stolen land!

We have seen across the league that members of the greater soccer community are staying home, afraid of being kidnapped without due process, and targeted because of the color of their skin or the language they speak. We stand in solidarity with fellow supporters near and far, while the league stays quiet. While we may be supporting opposing sides on the pitch today, we stand together against the attacks of our communities.

We sing “When it’s us, vs them, you can always count on me”. That is a full stop, when you attack one of us, you attack all of us. We will use our voices to protect our communities and speak out against injustice.

With this display we also distributed 15,000 bilingual Know Your Rights cards in the stadium. Get your own copy here, and find more information you can share with your community from WAISN, NWIRP, or the city of Seattle.

¡Vamos Sounders!
