Cascadia Cup Council Statement on Save the Caps

Since 2004, the Cascadia Cup Council has united the supporters of Cascadia to build, maintain, and defend the Cascadia Cup. With Vancouver’s Southsiders, Seattle’s Emerald City Supporters, and Portland’s Timbers Army working together, we have preserved the legacy of our rivalries and celebrated a fierce on field rivalry. Our history together dates back to 1974 and has seen the rise and fall of numerous leagues. With MLS as the current top league in the US and Canada, our rivalries have been the backbone of a vibrant supporter culture. And yet, we find ourselves facing yet another existential crisis, as MLS threatens to relocate the Whitecaps out of Vancouver. The Cascadia Cup Council and the supporters of Cascadia stand together in condemning these efforts and stand together in solidarity and opposition.
